The short answer

How does a direct-booking website pay for itself for a hotel or inn?

Online travel agencies keep roughly 15–20% of every reservation they send you. Move a modest share of those bookings to your own site and a $3,000 Kemafy hotel website is typically paid off within the first year. The site earns that by giving guests no reason to leave: room pages with real rates and availability, a booking path that finishes in a few taps, and dedicated pages for weddings, meetings and group blocks, which are often worth more than the rooms themselves.

The math behind booking direct

Why the sector sets the brief.

A guest who books your $220 room through an OTA leaves you with about $180.

The same guest booking on your site leaves you the whole amount, plus their email address and the chance to sell them breakfast, a late checkout or a second night. Your website is the only place that math works in your favor, so Kemafy designs it to keep the guest there. Photography does the first job: rooms, lobby and views sized to look tempting on a phone screen at a bus stop. Confidence does the second: live rates, a best-rate promise, honest amenity lists and a map that answers how far the airport and downtown are. And a booking flow that never asks for more than it needs finishes it. For properties on the Front Range, we give ski packages, wedding venues and meeting space their own pages, because that business is booked by people comparing you against three other venues.

Scope

The parts we build most often

  • Book Direct, Keep the Margin

Your booking engine or PMS embedded on the site, with a best-rate promise that gives guests a reason to skip the OTA.

  • Room Pages With Real Rates

Each room category gets its own page: bed configuration, occupancy, in-room amenities, a gallery and tonight's rate.

  • Photography First

Layouts built around large, fast-loading images, because guests pick a hotel with their eyes.

  • Dining, Spa & Amenities

Restaurants, bars, pool, fitness and spa each presented as a reason to stay another night.

  • Weddings, Meetings & Groups

Venue specs, capacity charts, catering menus and an RFP form for planners comparing properties.

  • Getting Here

Airport distance, parking, shuttle details and nearby attractions answered before a guest has to ask.

Straight answers

What hotels & hospitality owners ask us.

Is $3,000 the whole price for a hotel site?

Hotel and inn websites start at $3,000. Connecting a booking engine, channel manager or property management system adds to that, and we quote it once we know which system you use.

Which booking engines can you integrate?

Cloudbeds, SiteMinder, Little Hotelier, Mews and most PMS vendors offer an embeddable booking widget or API, and we build the site around whichever one you already run. If you have no engine yet, we can start with a structured reservation request.

Our photos are dated. Does that matter?

More than almost anything else on the site. We will design around what you have and be honest if a half-day shoot would change results, because a strong layout cannot rescue a dim photo of a room.

Where do wedding planners and meeting buyers fit in?

Yes. Group and event business gets its own section with capacity charts, floor plans and an RFP form, so a planner can shortlist you without a phone call.
